How do i use teamspeak?
like the title states, how do i use team speak? After doing a little bit of browsing, i discovered that you have to download a client, and theres a TS server. However, i do not understand this so i will need further details on how to use teamspeak. Since i am using a Hp Pavilion Dv2000, can i still use teamspeak without the head phones and stuff? cuz i am able to record audio so i am guessing TS will work.... Thanks in advance

You can still use Teamspeak without headphones , the sound just comes through your speakers instead so you can still hear instructions from team mates but will not be able to reply to them.

Download the client. Do not download the server. You need some sort of microphone in order to talk in TS, doesn't have to be a headphone. I'll let someone else get into greater detail since everything else I would say I have repeated too many times to the same 3 people in my alliance

When I downloaded Teamspeak from the main site there was a complete guide to setting up the server and the client.
The server is only needed by one person to set up a channel for everyone to talk on. Then everyone who wants to chat installs the client. http://clanservers.multiplay.co.uk/help/ts2_guide.htm The link is to the total newbies guide to teamspeak you probably just need to read the client bit unless like me you run your own server. edit If your in the uk try visiting a store like poundland or pounstretcher they have cheap albeit a little fragile headphones with and without microphones and also desktop microphones, sry dont know the equivalent stores for other countries. A pound isn't a lot to see if your system works ok for in game chat then you can go elsewhere for a better headset or just mike. If you use desk microphone and speakers there may be a feedback problem that will annoy others your talking to, where sound coming out the speakers gets fed into the microphone and recycled again. I strongly surgest getting a microphone or headset, even if it's a cheap one for starters.
If you don't have it, mute your microphone when you started TS. You can still listen to what is said through your speakers. The reason for this is that people who are also on TS will get an annoying echo when your computer microphone picks up the sound from your speakers. Or even worse, a very loud noise that prevents others from speaking normal. |
